moments
Ecopousada Menina da Serra was born from the spark in someone’s eyes and a passion for a piece of land set in a cove of Morro Paxixi, in Camisão, Mato Grosso do Sul. It is more than lodging: it is connection with nature, culture, and the pantaneira essence.
Every corner of the hills holds an instant that exists only here. Sunrise trails, macaws in the woods, the sound of the berrante among sandstone cliffs — moments that stay long after you go home.
Some dreams begin with an idea. Ecopousada Menina da Serra began with a place.
A couple of lawyers decided they wanted more than a change of address. They sought a purposeful life in a place where they could build a legacy and share what nature offers most: time, quiet, and beauty in its purest form.
After exploring different places, they found exactly what they were looking for at the foot of Morro do Paxixi. The land had no buildings or structures — only rocks, slopes, and the imposing sandstone cliffs.
After the sale, the former owner asked, surprised:
“What do you want here, with this pile of rocks?”
The answer was right there. That raw, preserved landscape was never an obstacle — it was the foundation of a dream.
Stone by stone, Menina da Serra took shape. Every space was designed to blend comfort, sophistication, and contemplation into the landscape — a setting from the telenovela Pantanal — honoring nature and the cultural richness of this region where Cerrado meets Pantanal.
The pousada’s name honors the couple’s only daughter, Valquíria — the “Menina da Serra” — who grew up watching that dream come true.
Today, what was once seen as “just a pile of rocks” has become one of the most singular refuges in Mato Grosso do Sul. A place where nature remains the protagonist, and every guest is invited to write their own chapter.
origin
The name was not chosen by chance. Menina da Serra honors daughter Valquíria — the girl who grew up knowing every trail, every sunset, and every sound of the cerrado in this place.
Sandstone cliffs, cerrado, and open horizons in the heart of the Serra de Maracaju.
The pousada preserves symbols, flavors, and ways of welcoming that belong to the land.
Trails, silence, wide skies, and a pace that brings guests closer to real nature.
